Gold-Eagle Cooperative has for decades taken safety seriously, for both our employees and our customers.Contrary to the popular image of fresh airand peaceful surroundings, a farm is not a hazard-free work setting. Every year thousands of farm workers are injured and hundreds die in farm accidents.According to the National Safety Council, agriculture is the most hazardous industry in the nation.
Some factors found that are associated with a higher risk of injury and illness on the farm:
*Age—Injury rates are highest among children 15 and under and adults over 65.
*Equipment/Machinery—Most farm accidents and fatalities involve machinery.Proper guarding and machine maintenance can help prevent accidents.
*Protective Equipment—Using protective equipment such as seat belts on tractors, not allowing passengers on equipment not equipped todo so, and wearing personal protective equipment (such as gloves, coveralls, boots, hats, goggles, face shields) could significantly reduce farming injuries.
*Medical Care—Hospitals and emergency medical care typically not readily accessible in rural areas near farms.
Gold-Eagle values it's patrons and employees and asks everyone to take your time, be careful, and be cautious in all your day to day activities.
