Weekly Cotton Market Review
Spot quotations averaged 76 points higher than the previous week, according to the USDA, Agricultural Marketing Service�s Cotton and Tobacco Program. Quotations for the base quality of cotton
color 41, leaf 4, staple 34, mike 35-36 and 43-49, strength 27.0 - 28.9, and uniformity 81.0 - 81.9) in the seven designated markets averaged 63.05 cents per pound for the week ending Thursday,
February 13, 2025. The weekly average was up from 62.29 cents last week but down from 88.52 cents reported the corresponding period a year ago. Daily average quotations ranged from a low of
61.77 cents on Friday, February 7 to a high of 63.79 cents on Wednesday, February 12. Spot transactions reported in the Daily Spot Cotton Quotations for the week ended February 13 totaled
69,762 bales. This compares to 26,598 reported last week and 26,614 bales reported the corresponding week a year ago. Total spot transactions for the season were 709,622 bales compared
to 639,860 bales the corresponding week a year ago. The ICE March settlement price ended the week at 66.83 cents, compared to 66.03 cents last week.
Southeastern Markets Regional Summary
Spot cotton trading was active. Supplies and producer offerings were moderate. Demand was moderate. Average local spot prices were higher. Trading of CCC-loan equities was inactive.
Cloudy, overcast, and breezy conditions prevailed across the lower Southeast during the period. Unseasonably warm daytime temperatures in the 80s cooled into the 60s as the week progressed.
A cold front moved across the region later in the period producing multi-day moderate-to-heavy shower activity accompanied by strong winds and tornado warnings. Persistent mist and fog was
also observed in some southerly areas. Precipitation totals measured three to five inches across north Alabama and north Georgia with lesser accumulations observed along the Gulf of America
and Atlantic coastal areas. Flash flood warnings were issued as river and stream levels rose and power outages were reported. A few gins remained on gin days as they waited for the last modules
to arrive on gin yards; ginning rapidly neared completion.
Cloudy skies dominated the weather pattern during much of the period. Daytime high temperatures in the 80s cooled into the 40s and 50s later in the week. Nighttime lows were mostly in the 30s and 40s.
A cold front moved across the region late in the week and widespread thunderstorms brought severe weather and flash flooding to areas of the eastern Carolinas and Virginia. Rainfall totals measured
around one to two inches, with heavier accumulations recorded in localized areas. Ginning was completed for the season.
Textile Mill
Domestic mill buyers inquired for a light-to-moderate volume of color 41, leaf 4, and staple 34 and longer for third and fourth quarter 2025 delivery. No sales were reported. Yarn demand remained
moderate and mill buyers were balancing production schedules with finished product orders. The undertone remained cautious.
Demand through export channels was moderate. Agents throughout the Far East inquired for any discounted styles of cotton.

South Central Markets Regional Summary
North Delta
Spot cotton trading was inactive. Supplies of available cotton were light. Demand was very light. Trading of CCC-loan equities was moderate. Average local spot prices were higher. No forward contracting was reported.
Mostly cloudy skies characterized the weather pattern during the reporting period. Daytime high temperatures were in the 30s to 70s. A cold front moved through the region dropping overnight low temperatures into the
teens. Frigid weather conditions brought snowstorms to northern areas in the territory. Accumulated precipitation measured from trace amounts to two and one-half inches. The National Weather Service issued flood
warnings throughout the region. In Arkansas, a steady soaking rain saturated low-lying fields. Producers closely monitored commodity prices. Ginning neared completion. Virtual and in-person meetings were being
planned and attended.
South Delta
Trading of spot cotton and CCC-loan equities was inactive. Supplies of available cotton were light. Demand was very light. Average local spot prices were higher. No forward contracting was reported. Business was very slow.
Overcast cloudy skies were persistent throughout the reporting period. A cold front dropped daytime temperatures from the 80s to 40s. Nighttime lows were in the 30s to 60s. Accumulated rain totals measured from trace
amounts to three and one-half inches. The National Weather Service issued flood and tornado warnings in parts of Louisiana and Mississippi. Commodity prices are being closely monitored by producers. Pressing operations
have been completed in Louisiana. Virtual and in-person industry meetings were being planned and attended.

East Texas-South Texas
Spot cotton trading was moderate. Supplies and producer offerings were light. Demand was moderate. Average local spot prices were higher. Producer interest in forward contracting was light. Trading of CCC-loan equities
was inactive. Foreign mill inquiries were light. Interest was best from Central America, Pakistan, Turkey, and Vietnam.
In East Texas, a cold front ushered in widespread heavy rainfall bringing colder temperatures back to the region after a period of warm and dry weather. Daytime temperatures dropped into the 50s and nighttime temperatures
dipped into the low 30s. Accumulated moisture ranged from one to three inches of rain in some areas. Muddy field conditions and heavy rain showers hampered field activity. In South Texas, mostly sunny and partly cloudy
skies dominated the weather pattern in the Coastal Bend, Upper Coast, and Rio Grande Valley (RGV). Daytime high temperatures were in in the mid-to-upper 80s, with nighttime low temperatures ranging from the 40s to the 70s.
Patchy rainfall produced light amounts of precipitation in the RGV, and chances for additional rainfall was in the forecast for some areas in the Upper Coast. Fieldwork was slowed due to wet soil conditions in the RGV. No
cotton planting was reported. The insurance price discovery period for the Rio Grande Valley closed on January 31 at 70.00 cents per pound with a 14.00-cent price volatility.

West Texas-Kansas-Oklahoma
Spot cotton trading was active. Supplies and producer offerings were heavy. Demand was good. Average local spot prices were higher. Producer interest in forward contracting was light. Trading of CCC-loan equities was
inactive. Foreign mill inquiries were light. Interest was best from Central America, Pakistan, Turkey, and Vietnam.
In Texas, variable weather patterns brought a full range of seasons with high temperatures in the 20s to upper 80s. Overnight temperatures were in the single digits to the 60s. No significant precipitation was received,
but a mid-week cold front brought frigid conditions with freezing rain and icy roadways in the Panhandle. Fieldwork included tilling the soil early in the report period. Final ginning was underway. The Southwest Cotton
Physiology Conference was held in Lubbock, TX.
In Kansas, daytime temperatures were in the teens to low 40s, and overnight lows were in the single digits to the 30s. A cold front brought 3 to 5 inches of snow and halted outside activities. All gins finished
processing seed cotton for the season. Most cotton growing counties were in the none or abnormally dry intensity levels, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, released on February 13. In Oklahoma, high temperatures
were in the low 30s to mid-50s. Overnight temperatures were in the teens to 30s. Freezing rain covered the roadways mid-week. Ginning continued. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most cotton growing counties
experienced abnormally dry soil moisture conditions.

mill activity was reported. Foreign mill inquiries were moderate.
Weather conditions throughout the region were sunny to partly cloudy. Temperatures continued to be above average at the beginning of the period with daytime highs reaching into the low 80s. The warm temperatures gave
way to more seasonable conditions by weeks end as daytime highs subsided into the 60s. Nighttime lows were in the 30s and 40s. No rain was reported during the period. The Visalia Classing Office continues to class
samples received from gins in Arizona. Members of the cotton industry attended the National Cotton Council�s annual meeting.
San Joaquin Valley (SJV)
Spot cotton trading was inactive. Supplies and demand were light. No forward contracting or domestic mill activity was reported. Average local spot prices were higher. Foreign mill inquiries were light.
Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures dominated the weather pattern during the period. Daytime highs were in the 50s and 60s, with nightly lows in the 30s and 40s. A low pressure system entered the area by week�s
end bringing thunderstorms, wind, and rain. Total rain accumulations ranged from one-quarter of an inch to over one and one-quarter inches in some locales. A flood advisory was issued in Fresno, CA due to heavy
downpours. The rain will be beneficial to reservoir and soil moisture levels. Members of the cotton industry attended the National Cotton Council�s annual meeting in Dallas, TX and the World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA.
American Pima (AP)
Spot cotton trading was inactive. Supplies were moderate. Demand was light. No forward contracting or domestic mill activity was reported. Average local spot prices were steady. Foreign mill inquiries were light.
Temperatures were cooler with daytime highs in the 50s and 60s. Nightly lows were in the 30s and 40s. Thunderstorms brought some much-needed rain to the area, with accumulations of one-quarter of an inch to over
one and one-quarter inches recorded in some locales. A flood advisory was issued in Fresno, CA due to heavy downpours. The precipitation will be beneficial to reservoirs and soil moisture conditions. In the Desert
Southwest, warm temperatures gave way to more seasonable climatic conditions as daily highs dropped from the 80s to the 60s. No rain was recorded in the period. The Visalia Classing Office continues to class samples
